| Ofelia brings many years of expertise in her chosen field of Spanish classical dance. Highlights of her theatrical presentations include performances at the Teatro Nacional, the Teatro de Bellas Artes, and the Gran Teatro del Cibao, in the Dominican Republic; and include productions of "La Casa de Bernarda Alba" and "La Picara Molinera." She was soloist and choreographer for the Ballet Clasico Nacional de la Republica Dominicana's production of "El Amor Brujo," and winner of the award for Best Classical Presentation. She has served as choreographer and instructor for the Dominican Republic's San Franciso Ballet Academy. Ofelia has studied Clasico Espanol, Escuela Bolera, and regional Spanish Dance in Spain at the Escuela Superior de Danza Espanola, and has studied ballet under the Director for National Arts Department of the Secretary of State for Culture, and under the Director of the National School of Dance. She has studied Flamenco in Spain, the Dominican Republic, and the U.S. Ofelia and Natalia are both delighted to be able to augment and round out the Flamenco instruction at Arte Flamenco with the inclusion of this repertoire. Ofelia is an avid student of flamenco but her first love is Spanish Dance, and she says "I can do any kind of regional dance you throw at me."
